Clients benefit from my practical approach to resolving their legal problems.
Marissa takes a practical approach to solving legal problems and assists her clients to make commercially sound decisions as opposed to impulse decisions that have detrimental consequences, for example Court proceedings.
Marissa aims at achieving a workable and practical result not results that just work “in theory.”
Marissa sees litigation as a last resort and believes that every effort should be made to resolve a matter as amicably and expeditiously as possible rather than embarking on costly and lengthy litigation. Marissa’s commercial grounding allows her to provide a ‘real solution’ to assist you during any legal transaction.
Marissa is a strong negotiator and is dedicated to ensuring the best possible resolution for her clients. Raised and educated in the Hills District, Marissa graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Laws. Marissa was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2003 and is also admitted to the High Court of Australia.
Marissa is a Director of Anderson Boemi Lawyers and has been practising as a solicitor for 13 years. She is committed to representing clients from all facets of the local and wider community and is able to identify and understand cross cultural and legal issues.
Marissa is an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and is qualified within the area of Collaborative Law.
In simple, the law requires (eligible) separating families who are unable to reach an agreement in respect of their children to make a genuine effort to resolve parenting matters through FDR.
As a FDRP Marissa can help separating or separated families reach an agreement in respect parenting matters without having to go to Court.
If you are unable to reach an agreement in respect of children you may commence proceedings in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia or the Family Court of Australia. In order to do so, you must file a section 60I Certificate which indicates to the Court that you have made a genuine effort to resolve the parenting issues by FDR prior to commencing proceedings. There are some exceptions to this requirement including cases involving family violence, child abuse, or matters of urgency.
In addition to her strong commitment to family law, Marissa also practices in the following areas:
- Conveyancing
- Leases
- Wills and Estate Matters
- Commercial and Business Matters
Marissa has acted for vendors in respect of multimillion dollar sale transactions and has successfully negotiated with the likes of top tier retail outlets.
